Maps viewed on-screen are low resolution proxies for the actual map, which
can be downloaded and printed as a high resolution ".pdf". To
view the .pdf, you will need the free Adobe
Acrobat Reader.
There are two ways to browse the map collection:
Select a map category and decade from the drop-down menu in the left
navigation bar and press "Go". A page that summarizes
the topic area and provides more detail about the data sources will
appear in this main frame and a list of available maps will show up
below the drop-down menu.
Use the search menu below. This page will be replaced with the search
results, which will also show up below the drop-down menu.
