Those unemployed or underemployed are also limited by educational achievement.  40% of adults do not have a high school or equivalent diploma.

Unlike many urban neighborhoods, there are good jobs in and near the Making Connections area – especially in the industrial corridor that includes Miller Brewing Company and Harley-Davidson.  3,200 jobs are located in the three census tracts just south of Making Connections. Unfortunately, there is a mismatch between the available jobs and the education and skills of local residents.  Only 5% of those who work in that industrial corridor live in the Making Connections area.
