Residents generally recognize seven distinct sub-districts as social neighborhoods. These districts are clearly different along basic demographic and economic characteristics. Five neighborhoods Washington Park, Walnut Hill, Cold Spring Park, Martin Drive, and Metcalfe Park are entirely within Making Connections.

Some residents would prefer to extend the neighborhood west to 27th Street as well.
